KFO 192 Symposium 2008

Dear Colleagues

In our symposium, we will present and discuss the projects of the clinical research group "Regulation and dysregulation of skeletal muscle growth" funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG, KFO 192). Various international experts will present state-of-the-art lectures and share their views with young researchers during a poster session. The meeting is also dedicated to establish a strong cooperation between the muscle research activities in Paris and Berlin with the long-term goal of a common graduate student research training school.

Prof. Dr. Simone Spuler, Scientific Leader, KFO 192 and
Prof. Dr. Friedrich C. Luft, Speaker of the KFO 192

Location

Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine, Berlin, Germany

Hors-d'oeuvre: Sunday, December 7th

6:00 pm

Deutsche Oper Berlin
Tannhäuser oder der Sängerkrieg auf der Wartburg
Opera by Richard Wagner

Two versions of Wagner’s opera Tannhäuser exist: one composed in Germany and a later one in Paris – an example of Wagner’s development as a composer. This opera is being presented as an opening to our symposium and the Berlin-Paris workshop, for us a happy coincidence. The soprano Nadja Michael (Venus/Elisabeth) and the Deutsche Oper Berlin support the CRG 192 Symposium and research on muscle diseases. For invited participants of the symposium and accompanying persons, a limited free ticket contingent has been made available. We will meet with Nadja Michael after the performance.
